Microphone on Ubuntu

I just installed the newest version of Desmume on the newest version of Ubuntu. On a Toshiba laptop.
When I run desmume from the terminal it says "Microphone init failed.", but my internal microphone seems to work fine.

How can I check what's wrong? Is there a alternative by using a .wav file or .mp3 or something? I don't see any options to do that.

Re: Microphone on Ubuntu

linux sound is weird. just because it works doesnt mean programs are able to boot it using one of the 1000000 various methods of operating sound hardware on linux.

you can check whats wrong by debugging the software.

theres an alternative by using a .wav on the windows port. investigate wine.
