Sound repeats

i have gone to play Avalon Code and the audio simply sucks. on default the audio is smooth, however there are loops, which is really annoying, particularly for mood reliant games like this. messing with the sync gets rid of the loop however than it lags the voices which is even more infuriating (have not checked if sync specifically affects voices). none of this affects BGM, of course. i have tried to mess with the buffer to make up for the sync's delay but it was a no go.

new laptop. not much on it. it isnt amazing but it should be able to emulate nds games with what it has.
CPU: AMD Quad core A6-5200 2.0Ghz
Graphics: Radeon HD 8670M 1GB
OS: windows 8.1 64 bit.
RAM: 4GB

Re: Sound repeats

As far as I can tell, there's no such thing as an A6-S200. But I get the impression that your assumption that it should be able to emulate "nds games" might be mistaken.

It's not clear what you mean by "lag". That word can mean anything.

Turn on the FPS display and see what FPS youre getting.

Re: Sound repeats

sorry its dark, forgive me.5200, not S200. as for the FPS, it tends to jump around between 30 and 60, averaging a high 40's. by lag i meant sound lag.

Re: Sound repeats

It's not clear what sound lag means. I'm going to assume, since you're not getting 60fps which is required for synchronous sound to work correctly, that you mean the sound is jacked up and choppy.  Your only recourse is to follow the speedup tips in the FAQ.

You evidently can't expect that cpu to be able to emulate NDS games. Some games are heavier than others, anyway.

The fact that it's quad cores means you got less emulation performance than you paid for.

Re: Sound repeats

fair enough i guess. so is there nothing i can do to get rid of the repeats when using dual SPU synch/asynch? when using that, the sound truly is mint. sounds just as good as on my ds, the only difference is those annoying stutters.

also not that it matters anymore but by lag i meant that the sound was produced particularly slowly. thats about it.

thanks for trying btw.

Re: Sound repeats

for anyone looking for solutions to the sound loop (not choppy or bad sound) i have heard that desmume does not operate well with windows 8. may be just idle rumors, but might be worth the try for someone to use windows 7 on the same computer with the same specs. unfortunately i could only test it on a different computer with different specs but it worked on it well enough.
