Re: Graphic Card Improvement

A better graphics card can help you a little, but not by much. If you want a notable improvement in your speed (needed for the game that you mentioned and some others, like Final Fantasy IV), you will need to change your processor that you have for one that have a higher frequency (in GHz) and better processing of data, and preferably with two cores (because DeSmuME benefits much more with less cores).

By the way, Which is the processor of the computer that you are using, and the frequency of your processor?

It won't help him a bit if he doesn't experience any graphical issues at the moment with Software Rasterizer (which is mostly the better bet imo), anything that renders a picture will work fine. It's all in the FAQ, including what CPU is recommended for the emulator and how to get the best performance out of your system, you'll get yourself tired if you try to squeeze information out of any single person here who doesn't read anything beforehand.

Re: Graphic Card Improvement

i have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz
3.43 GB of usable RAM
its a 32-bit windows 7 laptop
it has 4 processors
but for some reason when i use the software renderizer it works fine most of the time and at an ok speed but in some scenarios it freezes. when i reset it and go to the same scenario but with opengl it works fine but is slow as hell any sugestions as what to do?

Re: Graphic Card Improvement

check for overheating of your laptop, say where you got your desmume build from, and explain scenarios in more detail

Re: Graphic Card Improvement

ok and by the way thank you guys so very much for your corcerns.
now to answer the question i was thinking of buying a new cooling system to my laptopp because sometimes i feel it gets really hot but not that hoy to actually affect the overrall performance. I did notice though that there was this one time when i was in a room with very low temperature the system worked faster. the version i got it from downloading ** MOD EDIT: A LAME WAREZ PACK **. when i open DeSmuME it says "DeSmuMe 0.9.6 svn3906 x86"

while for the freezing scenarios it doesnt seem to have anything in common. with that i mean it can freeze in an area with no people aroud(but remember golden sun uses a lot of 3d textures) as well as it can freeze in the middle of a city. this spots are unmoveable meaning i can try to pass several times through the same spot and still freeze while the only way to avoid this spots are by using the slow open gl.

Re: Graphic Card Improvement

we don't support that desmume. get it from the official source. i dont know anything about that revision or what winds pro has done.

but mostly i blame your laptop. its broken somehow. try it on another equivalent computer and youll see you dont have such problems.
