Pokemon Migration - Unable to detect 64kb save

Hi there,

I'm trying to migrate Pokemon from my Emerald GBA game, but the save does not seem to be detected. The option for migration does not pop in the NDS game at all.

I understand that this is due to my save file being 64kb, but I have tried and tried to no avail to convert this save file to 128kb. I tried using VBA, loading the save file then editing the VBA options from Flash 64kb to Flash 128kb, but saving does not appear to change the save's file size.

I have also tried a converter called "Multi-Save Converter-Renamer 0.2", but that just caused the save file to become corrupt.

The save file I am trying to convert is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?152sfjxe23615dg

Please advice,
Thanks.

have you used the "gba slot" options at all? if not, it will never work.

Yep, I've set the ROM/SAV in the GBA Slot options. I've done this before, but with a different save file from the one I'm currently trying to use. That one was 128kb naturally, unlike this one which is 64kb.

Re: Pokemon Migration - Unable to detect 64kb save

I've just found that the save file size standard of the non-English games for Pokemon Emerald are 64kb in size, instead of 128kb. DeSmuME only appears to be able to detect 128kb save files, though. Any fix for this?

Re: Pokemon Migration - Unable to detect 64kb save

1. the game says that it is 128KB. thats what desmume detects it as. that doesnt mean that the save file that X emulator creates has to be 128KB.
2. for other reasons desmume may be failing to detect it, but I can't test it because i dont know how to play pokemon. send a dsv in the correct condition for importing from emerald
3. this game doesnt run in VBA?? but i refuse to use nocash, and its savefile sizes are generally wrong. what are you using to emulate it?
