Not really, if you read the CVS logs.

Another month, another release. The main features for this release are the major speedup for the 2D core, a GDB debugger stub, multiple language support for windows port and a FPS limiter for the *nix ports. For now the only packages available are the source package and windows binary. The regular *nix builds will come sometime week.
UPDATE: Debian 32-bit/64-bit builds are now available on the downloads page.
Its out already: http://desmume.org/?page_id=11
Athlon 64 X2 3800+ / 2Gb DDR2 800Mhz
Geforce 8600GT 256MB / Windows XP PRO SP3

(UPDATE: Debian 32-bit/64-bit builds are now available on the downloads page.)?
im using 0.7.1 and playing megaman zx.
but it sure is slow same as 0.7.0
is'nt it 2D? no speed-up?
so there will be a new release next week huh?
wow great~

It's faster, to a minor degree. Depend on game, some had a major speed up of over 40%, some other way minor. No, there won't be a release next week.
Here's an example, Yoshi's Island on 0.7.0 on the left, on 0.7.1 on the right
So better think before pushing the submit button the next time.

Yay I've been waiting to this release.
So... How about those trees?

I have tested the 7.1 version.
In generally It's have shown a great improvement. But the speed is still be main problem of this emulator.
In my opinion the next version should consider :
- Speed
- How about give full window screen feature.
- Please give a shortcut to save and load slot because It's annoying if user must click the menu again and again.
- Please consider about loading GBA save game because in some game. There are some feature to load an GBA save game like in Harvest Moon DS.

I'll just give my opinion, and what I'll be working (or better said, not working) on the incoming future.

- Speed
I just speed up the 2D core, because it was unbelievable slow due to some reasons that I prefer not to explain. I'm only interested on features and not that much on speed (even if I don't write a single line of code keeping in mind it must be FAST). Personally, I won't work on speed anytime soon, so don't expect any improvements on that from me.
- How about give full window screen feature.
I don't work on non emulation related stuff, and that includes fullscreen/screen rotation/screen zoom. But, on this one, you might be luckier with other team members, as there're some other members who care about GUI

Same as above, not emulation related, not interested

Of course, you've to keep in mind, that this is a open-source project, and even if personally I don't care on non "pure" emulation related features, there are other team members which have already worked on similar features in the past, and might keep doing so in the future.

Don't count on it, as the GFX FIFO irq is a bit hacked, and I don't want to commit hacks, although the masscat fixes to the texture creation should be ported to my core, as they fix compressed textures in quite a few games (New Super Mario Bros, fox example).
