Missing dsv files.

I am using the latest version of desmume for mac. I've been playing pokemon heart gold with no problems whatsoever except for occasional freezing, which is solved by saving than reseting. But i want to start a new file, i've deleted the file before for my second playthrough before but i can't find it for this third time. And yes, i have googled how to do it manually ingame, it hasn't worked of course.

By the way, i have also used finder, the only dsvs i found are for games i haven't played in a while.

Re: Missing dsv files.

it hasn't worked as in: it looks like it works but the emulation fails, or as in: the game doesnt accept the erase save file command?

It simply won't accept the erase file command. I've tried it multiple times, than resetting and trying it again, still no luck.

Re: Missing dsv files.

then use a different keyboard. or a joystick. apparently your mac keyboard can't send more than two keystrokes at a time. or use wine or a virtual machine to use the windows version, which has a feature to hold down buttons without you having to press the keys.

That seems like a lot of trouble just to delete the save file. I'm guessing the reason you would purpose this as a solution first is because the .dsv files are inaccessible for this version of desmume, huh? Well the .dsv file load only to the exact name of the rom, maybe i renamed the rom, it would start a new file?

Re: Missing dsv files.

i propose it as a solution because your computer is crippled and you should learn how to work around it. .dsv files aren't inaccessible for this version of desmume. Check the faq for information on how to find them in OSX. At the same time you will acquire a fundamental computer operation skill which you are, at the present, lacking.

But you are clever, sir. Renaming the rom will disconnect the savefile.

Re: Missing dsv files.

You could always use the in-game way of starting a new game.

Re: Missing dsv files.

Other than your reply being a month late, the OP stated in his first post that he tried that and it didn't work.

What calender do you use?

Also the OP should have tried harder. It is not that hard to press Up+Select+B on the Title Screen.

Yeah, not sure how I got to a month late. Regardless, useless.
