Megaman controls not working

I got the megaman roms, put them in, and when i loaded either megaman star force 3, and the megaman star force 2, the controls don't work, I cant go up down left right, or hit a b x y l or r, only the touch pad works, I'm on a mac using DeSmuMe V 0.9.2 Any help?
