the program is flashing / flickering at what seems completely random times, but doesn't stop once it starts. Some times its as soon as a load a game and other times it starts after several hours of playing that same game. I can not find anything that seems to be triggering the behavior. When it starts I'm able to save my game, quit the program, reopen it and some times continue like nothing its wrong but half of the time it will start as soon as I reopen it. But if I wait a little while I'm able to play it with out a problem. I have no other programs running. Im pretty sure everything on my computer is updated as far as I can get it updated but I don't know much about drivers witch ones I need or how to check them
I am using a older IMac running 10.12.6 I can't upgrade past this operating system. And have tried desmume 9.11 and 9.13 both seem to act exactly the same.

sounds like a dusty old computer. blow out some dust and reboot it occasionally.

update: this is the first time I seen this but I just got a pop up
"this emulation has halted due to an internal issue
ARM9 UNDEFINED INSTRUCTION EXCEPTION:
ARM9 Program Counter: 0x02020B70
ARM9 Instruction: 0x0E020600
ARM9 Instruction Address: 0x02020B68"
the game froze but no flickering / flashing

the game crashed because you're using an old version of desmume or a hacked rom
