Save states .dst files

After using Desmume since Dec, I notice my disk space starting to decrease pretty fast, and then I found out the culprit is the .dst files Desmume create whenever I load a state save. After a month of playing, those files accumulated into about 20GB.
Is there a way to not create those files or auto-delete them when using save states?

I'm using version 0.9.12 git#aeaf4041 x64-JIT SSE2

Re: Save states .dst files

I recently added this so that people would not lose their work when loading states on accident, since most pokemon gamers are morons and don't know to make backups of important documents they are investing hours in. I don't think there's any way to sensibly delete them at any time, except possibly by deleting them once there are N number. Maybe I could do that. Do you have a suggestion for what N should be? I could also add an option to disable it but I didn't want to do that because I wanted to encourage folks like you to complain and find out how annoying it is.

Re: Save states .dst files

I think maybe limit them to around 10 files at a time is sensible. I'd like an option to disable it too, since I don't need a savestates backup tbh.

Re: Save states .dst files

10 is not enough. People don't realize their mistakes until much later. I would want it above 100. Maybe 1000. I'll add an option eventually. I need to collect more data first.
