I was using the emulator and I had it running at a fast speed, but all of a sudden it started to lag, and then to the point to where the game was unplayable.
Using it on Windows 7, 64-bit id that helps.

consider whether the game entered a new mode which is more intensive and your computer is a toaster; delete your ini file; reboot and blow dust out of your fan; uninstall your streaming software or other desktop enhancements

I did as you said, and I got the game up again at the original speed, but then it slowly started to lag again and became just as bad as before.

did you really blow dust out of your fans? that's a sign of dusty fans. You may also need to set your system power options to high performance.
Did you consider whether the game entered a new mode which is more intensive and your computer is a toaster? You could demonstrate that by writing some of the relevant information. For instance, some pokemons should run fast until the 3d engine starts.

I did, although this laptop is brand new, it shouldnt be an issue yet... or maybe it is and I know nothing about computers lol
I had it at high performance. I'm playing a patched version of Ace Attorney Investigations 2, and I don't think it's from entering a new mode. First time the issue came up, I got maybe 10-15 min into the game, but after deleting the .ini file and having to restart it didnt even take 5 min for it to start up.

force it to always use discrete video, if you have the choice (not integrated); disable or remove security software; watch for junk running in the background. a new computer is not likely to have dust in it. a new computer is VERY LIKELY to have junkware running

And how do I look for junk running in the background

ask advice from someone who knows how to use a computer. this isn't PC tech support 101

Doesnt matter anyways. Don't know what did it, but it seems to be working fine now.
