Does Desmume have a built-in autosave feature?

I looked through a few pages, and the FAQ and didn't see anything about an autosave feature. I'm not that tech savy, so I may just not know what to do to configure one. Anyway, I'm playing Pokemon Soul Silver and was wondering if I can set up a timed autosave, and if so, how?
On an unrelated note, the emulator seems to be slowing down over time. I've had it for almost a week, and when I started, it was running at 65fps, now its running at about 45-50. This is walking around large map areas, if I'm in a small space or in a battle, the fps jumps to 65 or 80.

there is no auto-save feature. it's up to you. soulsilver on this emulator has grave problems. save in-game frequently and backup your .dsv files. don't use savestates.

gradual slowdown might have to do with soulsilver's grave problems, but it seems more likely you just need to reboot.
