Final Fantasy 3 - black screen/freeze after cut scene

After one cut scene in the game the screen is supposed to go black for 3-4 seconds but I can't get past that point so I'm unsure if this counts as a black screen/freezing problem.  I'm using desmume 9.10, which is located in My Documents.  I am not using a patched ROM or any cheat codes.

So far I've tried:

Deleting the .ini file
disabling frame skip
using the DS saves instead of save slates
changing 3d renderers
enabling Advanced Bus-Level Timing
using external BIOS images

If anyone has any other ideas on what to try I'd really appreciate it.

Re: Final Fantasy 3 - black screen/freeze after cut scene

That's Config->Emulator Settings->CPU Emulation Mode->use dynamic compiler right?
It was off, and I deleted the .ini file to check and it was off by default too, so I'm sure it's always been off.  I tried again with it off and on, set to both 1 and 100 block size but I still can't get past this cut scene.

after turning it off, load from a savefile, not a savestate. and also dont use 0.9.10 try 0.9.9 instead

Sorry for the late reply, but I've been busy with University exams.  I just wanted to let you know that it works with 0.9.9, thanks a lot for the help.
