My rom works fine on desmume( 0.9.6) but at 1 point of the game it keeps freezing,  If I was to download a new 'anti freeze rom' and I swapped this with my 'current rom' will my current save file continue on this new rom??? Or will I have to start again?

no worries, the problem was that i did not change the file extension to nds., that is why desmume could not see it smile

ok, ive been playing a rom with desmume just fine, until i decided to attempt to patch something that was not going very well, so i deleted the rom file (i made many copies beforehand) and extracted another, as soon as i opened it , it started a new game... i deleted it and repeated extracted again, this time in the same folder as the removed memory files, and i accidently opened it with adobe... now whenever i try to open with desmume, it does not work, and if i open the zipped file with desmume, the game starts again! what should i do? i completely fxcked with computers and i can open the file with other programs except for desmume. is the fault with desmume or the rom , i seriously dont feel like rom hunting again.
