I want to use a save file i downloaded to play on the latest version of desmume and while i'm at it move the rest of my save files. What's the terminal command to open the folder holding the latest version's save files?

I can get windows xp running on my mac anytime with bootcamp , but what would cpu would you recommend? I have the intel core 2 duo as my processor right now.

I meant to say, below average fps. In Pokemon heart gold when playing outside of battles and houses/gyms, the fps usually takes a dip and barely stays above 36fps. But i guess if that's because of my cpu, than i shouldn't bother with the window's version.

It is? I thought the below fps was because of my processor. Well i guess that's just more incentive to use bootcamp.

Well i'm pretty sure i did not enable any frame rate limiting, but then again i'm using the mac version and i don't know if that's the standard setting. But thanks for the reply.

Yes actually. I considered that, and i also took note of how it threw my timing off in bowser's inside story.

Maybe the game is being somehow pre-rendered to a certain extent?

Why is that whenever i pause a game then unpause it, the game gets a short boost in fps? I'm not complaining in any way, just asking.

I find that depending on the rom, desmume's chances of crashing change. If you want to prevent mid-play crashing, you should do these steps.

1.Open DeSmuME but give it a few seconds before opening a rom.
2.Have DeSmuME open the chosen rom but do not immediately run it.
3.Take 10-15 seconds to scroll through the DeSmuMe menu. I find that if DeSmuME will crash early, it will do so in the menu after a little while.
4.If it does crash, keep trying.

Take note that this is just to increase the likelihood of running the rom successfully without crashing. I've had times of a crashing streak at 8. But when i use this strategy, i don't have to waste time playing a game that will eventually crash, and i have a better shot at playing it without any problems. Then again it could be your computer specs, if they simply aren't good enough than you're going to have to pay a visit to new egg or give up.

I intend on using save states in Pokemon heart gold to my advantage. And then after a certain point, convert it into the .dsv file into a .sav file on put onto a m3 kart and play on a DS when i get one. Do i have to use the earlier version in order to do this? Or is there some way i can access it in this one to copy?

That seems like a lot of trouble just to delete the save file. I'm guessing the reason you would purpose this as a solution first is because the .dsv files are inaccessible for this version of desmume, huh? Well the .dsv file load only to the exact name of the rom, maybe i renamed the rom, it would start a new file?

It simply won't accept the erase file command. I've tried it multiple times, than resetting and trying it again, still no luck.

I am using the latest version of desmume for mac. I've been playing pokemon heart gold with no problems whatsoever except for occasional freezing, which is solved by saving than reseting. But i want to start a new file, i've deleted the file before for my second playthrough before but i can't find it for this third time. And yes, i have googled how to do it manually ingame, it hasn't worked of course.

By the way, i have also used finder, the only dsvs i found are for games i haven't played in a while.

I'm using the latest mac version of desmume and i have play to flute with gago, how does the fake mic noise work? Or is there some specific wav file i have to play while fake mic noise is enabled?

The screen isn't frozen, it's just that nothing happens when i press down, and i know down works since i walked down before in the game. I also forgot to mention that i'm using the mac version.

I played the game and everything seemed to be working fine up until this point, at the beginning when you first get swallowed by bowser i go through this area and see that star sprite guy inside some pink thing and and mario goes down and some block thing tells me to jump on the pipe and press down. I do just that and nothing happens. I'm also using the mac version of DesmuME.
