titan: Next bug you provide here and not in the bug tracker, I'll delete happily.
I am sorry trying to be helpful.
I thought I could share my personal experience with others, maybe could even help.
So I guess I was wrong.
What kind of thread do you expect in a subforum called "compatibility" with the explanation: "Talk here about working/not working games."?
Didn't I clearly state that I thought this kind of "bug" wouldn't be worth being posted on sourceforge.
I do not think that is reason enough to be rude so I am saying good bye happily.
Hope you feel good not seeing any feedback in this forums and attacking people who just try to communicate with other users/ staff.
I'm gone.
Have a nice life.
PS: Thanks to zeromus who even said something to the problem instead of showing his "authority".
So guys it's me again.
Wanted to report of another kind of "aesthetic" problem in the cas of GTA-CW, which didn't occur to me while using no**** (sorry for mentioning this again :-)).
I does not influence any kind of gameplay, but I found it interesting enough to be reported.
Right after booting up the rom, there's a short message saying the game saves automatically.
Before the "Licensed by Nintendo" shows up, the attached image is shown (usually the screen is absolutely black).
In fact it shows the pda of the game, without time, weapons and destinations.
Did anybody encounter this problem, too?
I am not registered at sourceforge and also don't consider this problem to be important enough to be posted there, but if somebody likes, he might also create a bug tracker.
Might only be a little thing to be fixed.
Hope this helps developers to improve desmume in future a litlle bit.
Best regards,
titan
For some strange reason, it still doesn't work for me.
Could the reason be found in the fact that the firmware file is .bin format and the bios files are in .rom format?
I can't explain it to myself why it is stuck at the mentioned start screen even with these files, as yvangkwheng reported success with this method .
Best regards,
titan
@nash 67:
Oh, thank you! I didn't know there was a solution already existing.
Going to try it this evening.
Would it be even possible to include some kind of workaround to get it running without externel BIOS file and these setting in one of the next svn if somebody is interested?
Best regards,
titan
Just wanted to let you know that Picross DS is still not working in 0.9.6 svn 3233.
No complaining, maybe somebody found a solution or has some kind of idea?
Hangs for me at the Jupiter/Nintendo start screen after booting up.
Best regards,
titan
Allright then, it's just fine that anybody may contribute to a filter.
Hopefully somebody is going to make a filter who filters nicely without that crappy minimum window size.
Best regards,
titan
epx 1.5 is already in svn builds
Just found out that I am already using this filter (EPX+ 1.5), though I have to say it is not really comparable to HQ2x.
Are there any improvements still to be made?
Best regards,
titan
@zeromus: Thank you for your answer, it's really good to hear that this is still on the todo-list!
Which kind of 1.5x Filter do yu intendend to implement in the next version, HQ2x?
It is nice to community and developers go hand in hand when it comes to evolving a project.
Best regards,
titan
PS: Just playing Might & Magic - Clash of Heroes and got no errors so far, working just well with some hardly noticeable slowdown in the loading screen.
Thank you again in really willing to help me out in this case-
Bilininear filtering looks better (but a little washed out compared to really good filters like HQ2X) compared to the filter I am using these days (Epx +).
But unfortunately also Bilinear forces the windows to a certain size (I think 2x), whereas EPX and Nearest Filter offer you to drag your window to the size you like.
Actually I am dragging my window to be a decently bigger than only 1.5.
So I think it is almost 2x, but the big taskbar from Windows 7 also cuts a bit space away.
Best regards,
titan
Thank you again for the answer.
So does anybody have a suggestion for improving on picture quality in desmume?
I hate to say so but no$*** had such a nice feature which filtered the screen output beautifully even at my current desktp resolution
.
I also cannot raise my current desktop res. as the picture becomes unsharp then.
Best regards,
titan
Thanks for the quick reply.
It's pretty unkind to request things, but no matter I would like to kindly ask:
Would it be possible to implement something like a HQ1.5xS or HQ1.5x filter for one of the next versions of your great program?
Best Regards,
titan
Hello everyone!
A big thank you goes out to all desmume developers which deliver their hard work freely for us!
I have benn using desmume (svn 3233) quite for a while now, but one question came to my mind concerning filtering methods.
Is it possible to use "superior" filtering methods like HQ2xS and Super2XSaI without having a minimum window size?
As I only have a desktop resolution of 1024x768, everytime i chose one of the better filters, I can't all oft he window, as it is too big and can't be shrinked.
So I have to use a medium filter like EPX and Nearest.
Is there any chance for me to enjoy the best filters of desmume?
