#1 Re: General » Ragnarok Ds - Can`t attack » 2011-05-12 13:03:13

the wifi version is one of the not supported ones. go to wherever you you got it from, and ask there for support. if you want to get help here, use the official release.

#2 Re: Support » 3D renderer problem, saved file error & suggestion » 2011-05-01 17:24:36

if you want support for the random build you got form wherever, go to whoever gave you the build, and ask them for support. if you want to get any support here, either use the latest official release (that's 0.9.7) or do a clean svn cheackout and build yourself.

also, if you want to get any question answered, or any bug fixed, please describe clearly an in full detail what you were trying to do and what happened. i didn't undestand a thing from the "problems you mentioned".

#3 Re: General » Suggestion on improving the DeSmuME speed » 2011-05-01 17:20:58

here's a hint: if a build have wifi enabled, it's not official, and not supported. in desmume svn and any official build, wifi is completely disabled.

#4 Re: Support » .dsv files not working. » 2011-04-21 01:44:48

by using your hands and your brain. it's that simple. assuming you don't lack either of those.

these are menus in desmume. there's config menu, in it there's paths menu item. there you'll find your path settings, which you might want to check if it leads where your save is.

#6 Re: General » Use the "ESC" key to enter fullscreen? » 2011-04-13 08:53:52

why isn't it configurable in the hotkey config? (though it's impossible to map to escape anyway )

#7 Re: Support » Can't play the save files. » 2011-04-10 10:12:37

you can't load your ingame saves, or savestates? because savestates aren't compatible between desmume versions. so if you made these savestates using an older version of desmume, you can't load them with 0.9.7, and you would need to load an ingame save. if you didn't save in game, and just used savestates, you'd have to download the version of desmume you used before, load the states there, save ingame, and load the save in 0.9.7. or you could just keep using the older version.

#8 Re: Support » Can't play the save files. » 2011-04-10 06:23:13

yes. change config>paths in the menu to point to where they are

#9 Re: Support » Can't play the save files. » 2011-04-10 00:44:43

the saves are supposed to be placed in desmume folder. if it was indeed deleted, then the saves would get deleted too. you could search your computer for *.dsv files, in case it was just misplaced. also take a look in recycle bin, to make sure it didn't end up there.

#10 Re: Support » DeSmuMe erasing saved file » 2011-04-07 01:12:56

ain't we all glad you found your files.

but, deleting desmume after losing your files was a rather bad move. you couldn't have gained anything from it, as it's the exact same desmume. on the other hand, keeping your desmume could help you looking for clues as to what happened, and besides, the missing file could be in a subfolder within desmume, or hidden or whatever, so maybe you deleted them yourself after all.

#11 Re: Support » DeSmuMe erasing saved file » 2011-04-06 19:27:51

do yourself a favor, search your hd for .dsv files. you say the files are there, but those are the new ones, right? you're looking for lost files, well, go look for them instead of making excuses.

also you're not clear on the all process of things. you said you deleted desmume and redownloaded. did that happen after your savefiles were gone? right before that? long before? did you ever move that folder? did you ever upgrade or were you with 0.9.7 from the start? it's really hard to tell the chronology and what really happened, and some things you said seem to contradict others.

also, i wasn't bashing you or anything, that was never my intention. just that there are some incredible idiots coming here regularly, and there's no way to know if you are one of them (no offense), so expect to be asked some stupid-sounding questions, and answer them clearly.

#12 Re: Support » I need help » 2011-04-06 16:41:54

the two are the same problem. you're doing something wrong. read the FAQ.

#13 Re: Support » DeSmuME crashing my computer » 2011-04-05 17:19:27

yes, laptops overheat just as much.. sometimes more. there may or may not be a place to clean from dust, if you're not sure you can ask someone around you who know computers.

also, the siren sound you hear may very well be a warning sign. a software related crash is unlikely to make sound like that, which means it's hardware related, probably overheating. you could check your computer's documentation for what it may means.

#14 Re: Support » DeSmuME crashing my computer » 2011-04-05 16:41:55

desmume is cpu intensive by design, being an emulator and all..   the setting you might want to tick is "close rom".

more seriously, a cpu is not supposed to overheat under any condition. if it does, something wrong (not with desmume). check the cpu fan for dust, and get some software to tell you if the cpu really overheat.
the reason why it only happens with desmume, is probably because you don't use any other software that strains your cpu for a long period of time.

#15 Re: Support » DeSmuMe erasing saved file » 2011-04-05 15:48:14

"latest version" is the wrong answer. give a version number. there have been enough people here thinking 0.9.4 is the latest version.
make sure you didn't place it where there's no write permission. and do check the path config to confirm it's pointing to where your save files are.

also, just to make sure: you didn't happen to delete your old savefiles while you "deleted all of desmume", right? and are you aware that savestates aren't compatible between versions?

#16 Re: Support » 3D renderer problem, saved file error & suggestion » 2011-04-05 15:42:57

not sure if i understand half of what your saying, but if you're using a wifi enabled build, you're unlikely to get support. go grab the official 0.9.7

#17 Re: General » How well can 0.9.7 run FFIV? » 2011-04-05 15:36:49

maybe you'd be kind enough to try it, and tell us the results. can't be too hard, right?

#18 Re: Support » DeSmuME crashing my computer » 2011-04-05 15:30:41

if your entire system crashed, it's likely not desmume's fault. not directly anyway. check your cpu for overheating, that might be it.

#19 Re: Support » DeSmuMe erasing saved file » 2011-04-05 15:27:51

did you happen to move the desmume folder from one place to another? or maybe the drive letter changed?

try deleting desmume.ini file. or check if config>paths is configured correctly. what version of desmume is it anyway?

#20 Re: Support » Still cant find it » 2011-04-01 00:21:18

rather than look in the faq, why not look in the menus? try poking the View menu until you find something that seem related.

#21 Re: Support » Saved Games. » 2011-03-30 18:35:58

delete desmume.ini and they should be back.

what version of desmume are you using?

#22 Re: Compatibility » Pokemon Black/White (U) Thread » 2011-03-28 12:28:46

no, that's not freezing. it could be caused by a power saving feature (i.e intel's speedstep), or a program is periodically using high cpu, or your cpu is just too slow. it's not your memory or graphics card anyway.

#23 Re: Support » Desmume 0.9.7 - Slowness in Ubuntu 10.04 » 2011-03-22 00:28:10

really the sarcastic ones have posting permissions in locked threads anyway, so no point locking it.

as for not getting support, it seems to me that your questions have been answered, although it may have been lost in the clutter. do you still need some help or have a question? (besides 'go hire developers for the linux port', it doesn't work like that.)

#24 Re: Support » question about non-supported game » 2011-03-20 12:14:56

as i was saying, disabling cheats won't fix what they possibly broke, unless you start from scratch without the cheats. with this second crash of yours, did you play again from the beginning without any cheats?

#25 Re: Support » question about no$gba in a desmume forum » 2011-03-20 11:47:30

this is desmume forum, not no$gba forum
